Last week, we had a really nice family vacation in San Diego. Dad rented a beach house and we all came out to hang out at the beach and relax. We also went to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, played a round of golf, and saw Aunt Terry and Pat and Susie. It was a really great time and it was fun to see the whole family at the same time.

Thanks for organizing this, Dad!

There was even ice cream!

Don’t be sad – there are a lot more photos over on Flickr!

We tried a little plain yogurt today. Georgia’s been very interested in food lately, and she gets pretty jealous when she sees us eating. She’s not quite sure what to do when she finally gets a hold of some food, though. She was really into getting the spoon into her mouth, but the rest of the process is still pretty confusing.
While she may not look all that happy in this picture, Gigi loves this grab apple. It’s rubbery and easy to grab and fun to chew. Also, it’s fun to say “grab apple”.
How could I possibly resist a trip to the zoo today? I had the day off, a new camera, and an invite from Kristen and Matilda. Gigi didn’t have any complaints, but I can’t say she was brimming with excitement, either.
Matilda finds a hippo.
Gigi enjoys the taste of her stroller straps.
A flamingo gets a good stretch.
An alligator waits to see if I’m stupid enough to hold my baby over the water.
A kangaroo chills out.
Kristen and Matilda check out the zebras.
Is this turtle turtley enough for you?
Even Stephanie tolerates my new camera. (There are plenty more zoo pictures here.)
I got a new Canon Rebel XTi camera this week and I’m really having fun with it. Obviously, Gigi was the main reason I bought it, although there were other factors (getting a new job, our upcoming family vacation, nerdiness). The camera can shoot 3 frames / second on burst mode, which makes a noise that seems to get Gigi’s attention. This is making it really easy to take way too many photographs. By the way, these photos may be buried under a whole bunch of zoo photos by the time you click on that link.
