Yesterday was my last day at work as a multimedia producer for Disney ABC Cable Networks. I’m moving over to become the video producer for SOAPnet.com and ABC Daytime.com. I’m very excited about it – the new job should be really fun and there’s a lot going on over at ABC Daytime and Digital Media. I’ll have a team of people working for me and a whole lot of video to create. Of course, the only way to properly prepare for this kind of transition is to visit the nearest pub and have some drinks and some good, clean fun. So I did that, too.

Jen and Debra get all PG-13 to prepare me for the world of daytime drama.

Kevin is skeptical about the use of the flash at such close range.

There’s a funny story about Sean posing with this piece of chicken, but I’m not quite sure how to describe it.
Thanks for the fun send-off, everybody!

You may have noticed that I put up a whole bunch of posts today. I finally got all my pictures up on Flickr, and I thought it would be best to call out some of the highlights now that I’m up to date. The reason I did all of this today is because we put the sunglasses from Cindy Owens on Gigi this afternoon and had a great time taking these pictures. I couldn’t wait to share them. I was also completely amazed that she never made any attempt to pull the sunglasses off. She was perfectly happy to have them on, which I really wasn’t expecting. I guess it’s now official: Gigi is way more fun than the cat.

One of Gigi’s quirks is that as soon as you pull her up to a sitting position, she immediately tries to bite your hand. She’s been teething lately, and she was in full zombie mode during this photo shoot.

There were some pirates on the studio lot this week. You can probably guess why. I took a couple of photos while I was walking by, but I really hope they’re not the only pirates I see this week. This may come as a surprise, but sometimes the baby makes it hard to get out and see new movies.

We bought this Bumbo chair to help Gigi sit up and play. It keeps her upright and has really helped her to get a good look around and pick things up wth both hands. It’s supposed to be good for kids up to 1 year old, but her thighs are already getting too chubby to fit in there. It’s not always easy getting her back out.

We may not need it much longer, anyway. She’s getting a lot better at sitting up by herself. She can even use the stroller without the car seat piece now. We went for a nice, long walk this afternoon and she kept her hat on the entire time and just sat back, checking out the scenery.

Gigi loves this bungee / wood toy. She even plays with it with her feet. Hopefully it will improve her monkey-like foot coordination.
