Grandma Penny

Hi, Grandma Penny!

Much to Gigi’s surprise, Stephanie’s mom is visiting this week.   Since I’m back at work this week, it’s nice to have an extra pair of arms to hold the baby while we all get back into our regular (yet newly revised) schedules.

Happy Monthiversary!

At the Alcove.

Gigi was born one month ago today.  I’m not sure how we got along without her.  Here are the things she has learned to do this month:

  • eat
  • sleep
  • poop
  • open her eyes really wide
  • suck on her hand
  • spit up milk when Stephanie’s not expecting it
  • growl like a monster
  • flail her arms around
  • kick both legs out at the same time
  • deal with the car seat
  • ride in the stroller
  • smile (sometimes on purpose)

I’m not really sure what else I can teach her.  These are some of my best tricks.

It’s Gigi’s four weekiversary.

Relaxing at the Griffith Observatory

I took a couple of pictures today for Gigi’s four weekiversary, but I don’t have them in the computer yet. Perhaps that will have to wait until her monthiversary, which would be Monday the 29th. Either way, I have a whole ton of photos from Tracy’s trip out here. You’ll just have to look at those instead.

It’s possible that a couple of the new photos are only in the Gigi photo set. So be sure to check there if you’re obsessive-compulsive.

We went to the Griffith Observatory with Frank and Tracy (they hiked up the long way, we walked up from the Greek Theatre). It was a gorgeous day, with great views of the Hollywood sign, downtown L.A., and even the ocean. Georgia slept through most of it, but the rest of us were pretty impressed.

Gorillas and a little monkey

Gorillas and a little monkey

We went to The San Diego Wild Animal Park yesterday.  Gigi was very well-behaved in the stroller (and most of the time in the car) and we saw lots of baby animals.  There were baby rhinos, lions and elephants.  Sadly, the San Diego Wild Animal Park does not raise children.
