Obviously no one ever told Tim not to feed the birds at the park. Once they know you have food, they won’t stop following you.

We got a much-needed trip out of the house when Matilda and Porter invited us out to the park yesterday. Catie stayed up past nap time, but I think it was worth it.
Here’s a look at the fire from Pasadena. By the way, we’re all fine and our house is far enough away that we don’t expect any trouble. Although Gigi’s new word this week is “smokey”.
Something about having a picture of a Weinermobile just makes you want to share it.
Besides bringing our children to see the Weinermobile, we also let them play in the park…
…and eat popsicles, because it’s impossible to go to the park without passing 50,000 ice cream vendors.
This is how you keep cool on a hot summer hike. Somehow, even on a hiking trail, we can’t avoid the siren song of the ice cream man. Seriously, those guys are everywhere.
This time, I was smart enough to get her an Italian ice in a little bowl instead of getting her an ice pop, which melts everywhere.
Note the look she gives me, which says “you are not getting any of my ice cream.”
